EARLIER WORK

writer, composer, cinematographer

On the films below I have a credit as writer, composer, or cinematographer (or a combination thereof), unless otherwise marked.

Many of the films have played on major TV networks internationally, and won international awards. Miranda Productions was kind enough to send me a partial list of theirs, just below. As a lot of the films were produced by the National Film Board of Canada, or CBC, which have extensive worldwide distribution, and submit to many festivals, and as a lot of the films were of an acknowledged quality, I suspect quite a list of awards could be attached.

STILLS PHOTOGRAPHER

1970's. Production stills on 20-30 films, photojournalism, fashion, publicity, industrial, educational filmstrips, 25-screen slide show for Manitoba centenial, O.E.S. Poverty Program White House (US) Special Project (working under Donald Rumsfeld)

NEWS CAMERAMAN

Late 60's. CJON TV St. John's NFLD. In charge of the camera department, handling all the station's photographic requirements, shooting, processing, editing, publicity stills, darkroom etc. etc.

News stories were shot in 16mm, usually edited 'in-camera', processed, and aired the same day.

I was also responsible for shooting local commercials. One particular spot was so loved by the client it was still airing 15 years later.

MISCELLANEOUS

Numerous documentary scripts and proposals commisioned but never produced, e.g. feature documentary on THE LIFE OF EMMANUEL VELIKOVSKY (six months research and writing).

Paid but uncredited consultant on numerous films, from IMAX to 30 sec. commercials.

Director, writer, storyboard artist, for a small number of TV commericals, the producers and titles of which I am trying to locate.

Music arranger, band-leader, musician (side-man), on a number of tours, and in the studio, Montreal.

Music arranger, band-leader, muscian, New York City.

Composed and produced music scores for a number of theatre plays (Quebec), the names of which I can no longer recall.

Stunt-Double (motorcycle stunts) for Edward Albert on the HBO Hitchhiker series.
